Cantonment Redevelopment Plan

An approximately 3000 Acre land, located outside the old Pune city at its inception by the British in the erstwhile British ruled India, is the Pune Cantonment area.

Taking after the development of defence land towards public housing in the US and Philippines, the primary idea behind this pro bono Vision Plan is to explore the possibility of imagining public land to provide housing both for Defense Staff and lower-income groups.

The proposition is to develop housing opportunities by using the existing assets in the form of public lands. The Vision Plan looks at developing half of the existing land to meet the housing requirements for Army staff, one fourth for affordable housing and the remaining one fourth for private sector development to monetize the existing assets.
