Drawing insights from the development of defense land for public housing in the US and Philippines, the idea behind this pro bono Vision Plan is to explore the possibility of envisioning public land to provide housing for both Defense Staff and lower-income groups.

With approximately 2,500 Acre of land, the Khadki Cantonment is located at the center of Pune City Municipal limits. Ironically it hosts a population density of about less than 1 person/acre in striking contrast to Pune’s density of about 65-70 persons/acre.

The vision proposes developing half of the available land to meet the housing needs of the Army staff, one-fourth of the land towards affordable housing and the remaining one fourth towards private sector development to monetize the existing assets.
