The Mundhwa Vision Plan is a 3000+ Acre Study area for one of the rapidly expanding suburban areas of Pune. Mundhwa, along with other opportunity sites, has the potential to house a resident population of about 10 lakhs with roughly 2 lakhs jobs, 1200 acres of parks and open spaces.

As per a recent study, Pune will grow to a 90 lakh population from its current 50 lakh in the next 15 years. Urbanization in Pune has been organic to a large extent, without proper planning and long term vision.

Proposed as a potential site for the pilot project of the Pune Smart City Neighborhood development program, the vision plan explores one of the many possibilities of a suburb expansion. The Mundhwa Vision Plan includes critical neighbourhood elements such as a Neighborhood centre, public parks, schools and amenities, transit-oriented development by pooling of land to create a unified growth.
